Next year in 2016, North Carolina's Aqualads will celebrate their 20th anniversary! So needless these guys have it figured out and are in it for the long haul. Along with The Surge (who have also been around about as long in some form or another), the 'lads play the finest traditional surf music in the region. The band has shared the stage with legendary acts such as Dick Dale, Link Wray (RIP), Southern Culture on the Skids, and Agent Orange and in 2013 my group The Mystery Men? was lucky enough to perform with them up and down the West coast including the Surf Guitar 101 convention and the Huntington Beach Pier. Their discography includes four full length albums with their latest being Treasures, an apt description for the songs contained upon the record.
Genki Genki Panic, hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, are newcomers to the scene and play horror surf and have a hell of a time doing it.
Performing the songs of Motörhead, this show will be the first for Atlanta's own Built for Speed. The group features two Stomp alums including myself (The Mystery Men?, MOONBASE, The Silent Knights) on bass as well as David Northrip (The Fugitives, The Silent Knights) on vocals and guitar.
