Our last show of the year! We've got Atlanta rockers The Indicators (featuring one of my favorite guitarists in town, Michael Goldman) reuniting for one night only, San Antonio's psych surfers Nuclear Juarez, Spaghetti Western inspired solo guitar from my main man Jeffrey Bützer, and special guest DJ Brian Parrish, host of "The Casbah" radio show on KSYM and drummer for Nuclear Juarez.

News and April show announcement
It is with deep regrets that I inform you I will no longer be hosting monthly Southern Surf Stomps. It has been an incredible three years(!) and an honor and privilege to work with so many wonderful and talented people. I've made some lifelong friends in the process from all over the country and found a new home at Kavarna. I'm incredibly proud of all the things we've accomplished; hosting 50 surf and instrumental groups in 4 cities across 3 states, with two acts whose members have been nominated for Grammys!
With all of that said, we are far from done. We will still be doing shows such as April 21st's with Jeffrey Butzer's The Compartmentalizationalists, Genki Genki Panic, In Snow, and Nikki Speake (Midnight Larks). If your group would like to perform, please don't hesitate to contact me as we will still be holding shows at Kavarna and elsewhere.

Southern Surf Stomp! presents Liz Brasher, The Fugitives, Rad-isaurus Rex
We're changing it up this go around with just one instro/surf group, The Fugitives (featuring Nicole of The Wave Slaves), and two surf-leaning turf groups. Liz Brasher is an artist which deserves your attention. Now normally singer-songwriter is a term that turns me right off but Liz is different, channeling 60's RnB fused with guitar awash in reverb and backed by a phenomenal combo. The Fugitives are back with guest drummer Nicole Edge of The Wave Slaves. The trio will be doing mostly standards in their aggressive style with David Northrip's sped-up-tape guitar playing. Rounding out the bill are surfy, garage punkers Rad-isaurus Rex who did a show for us at the Star Bar a while back and are just a ton of fun.

Southern Surf Stomp! presents The Buckrabbits, Racket Squad, Two Sisters
We're kicking off the new year with three new groups to the Stomp! Montgomery, Alabama's The Buckrabbits are an instrumental surf punk trio heavily influenced by the likes of Link Wray and the Ramones. You may have caught them at the Clarkston Surf Fest almost ten years ago(!) in 2008. Making their debut, Racket Squad features members of The Surge! and I'm told will perform instrumentals which predate the surf genre, where tape delay was used in lieu of spring reverb as it had not yet been invented. Maestro Eddie Katcher takes the helm so in my eyes the group can do no wrong and we're sure to be treated to another master class. Two Sisters will provide the 'turf' portion of the evening with female fronted pop music in the vein of Neko Case and Camera Obscura.
