The AmpFibians release "Enigma of the Deep"

The AmpFibians "Enigma of the Deep" is now available on iTunes and CDBaby!

Here's what Hunter King from Storm Surge of Reverb has to say about the "Enigma of the Deep":

"The latest release from Cincinnati's AmpFibians is a big step forwards from their their previous album Surf Guitar Heard Round the World. Purely in terms of production it's much more, well, produced. It has that expansive effect-laden sound that brings out a Mermen vibe that I think was always trying to come out of this band. That especially comes out on the first track, but they have a bit more fun than the spacey Mermen typically do - getting pretty silly on "Wolf Whistle". Though it's a shame that it's only 7 songs, they cover a lot of ground, with some spaghetti western and jazzy songs as well as some good ol' surf rock. The AmpFibians really have bested themselves on this one, the songwriting is more memorable and focused than their last effort and it sounds so good you want to keep cranking it up."

Ohio's psychedelic surf rockers The AmpFibians will be making their long awaited return to Atlanta as a four-piece, having recently recruited members from The Maladroits, with brand new record in tow!  They will be joined by Stomp regulars and Atlanta surf royalty The Surge!,  the sultry garage rock stylings of Tiger! Tiger!, and DJ Dusty Booze on the ones and twos.

Southern Surf Stomp! presents The Ampfibians (OH), Ivan Pongracic (MI), and Jeffrey Bützer and the Bicycle Eaters

The AmpFibians are a trio from Cincinnati, Ohio which play groove oriented surf that borrows elements from spy themes, psychedelia, jazz, blues, and even raunchy R&B to make each tune a new experience. 

Ivan Pongracic is a household name in the modern surf music scene and for good measure.  He has fronted two of the most legendary bands within the genre, The Space Cossacks (from 1996 to 2000) and The Madeira (from 2004 to present).  The Space Cossacks toured the US extensively and released three albums (including a greatest hits compilation) and a slew of singles and compilation appearances.  The Madeira has also toured the states extensively as well as Italy including a performance at the Surfer Joe Festival in Livorno.  They've released five albums including a live album, have been featured in Guitar Player magazine, and 2014 marks their 10th anniversary as a band.  His backing band for this particular show will feature members from The Mystery Men?, The Penetrators, The Surge, and Small Reactions.

Jeffrey Bützer is a multi-instrumentalist (piano, accordion, drums, guitar, and much more) with interests in many genres of music (including surf!).  With his band, he specializes in French chamber-pop with spaghetti western guitars.  The music is very cinematic and nostalgic without instantly conjuring any particular style, period, or band(s).  A bi-lingual vocalist (French/English), cellist, percussionist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer make up the septet of the Bicycle Eaters.
